2 Marks CBSE 2022
State any two of Euclid's axioms.
Ans: (1) Things which are equal to the same thing are equal to one another. (2) If equals are added to equals, the wholes are equal. These are universal truths used as the foundation of Euclidean geometry.
3 Marks CBSE 2021
Define collinear points. Are three points always collinear? Justify using Euclid's postulates.
Ans: Collinear points lie on the same straight line. Three points are NOT always collinear — for example, vertices of a triangle are non-collinear. By Euclid's first postulate, a unique line passes through any two points. A third point may or may not lie on that line.
